Shirley Hyden

CORBIN — Shirley Opal Hyden, of Williamsburg, departed this life on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the Continue Care Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.  She was 77 years, 4 months and 18 days of age. She was born on Feb. 7, 1937, in Campbell County, Tennessee, to the late Rev. Henry Brandenburg and Bannie (Wilburn) Brandenburg.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hyden; two sisters, Ruby Faulkner and Grace Gray; and a brother, Charlie Brandenburg.  She attended the Church of God.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Bruers and her husband Peter, of Williamsburg; two sons, Larry Wayne “Mike” Hyden, of Williamsburg, and Kenny Lee Hyden and his wife Freda, of Woodbine; four grandchildren, Angel Partin and her husband Greg, of Corbin,  Mark Hyden, of Woodbine, Stephanie Hoke, of Williamsburg, and Josh Hyden, of Woodbine; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Partin, Logan Partin, Taylor Partin, Marley Hyden and Sophia Hyden; three sisters, Mary Hurt and Sarah Fishback, both of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Jewel Campbell, of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, Bliss Brandenburg, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Jimmy Brandenburg, of Lafollette, Tennessee; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerome McCullah officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Croley Addition of Highland Park Cemetery.
