Robert Smith Jr.

CORBIN — Robert “Bill” Smith Jr., age 61, of Gray, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013, at Oak Tree Hospital.

Born in Corbin, he was the son of the late Woodson Smith and Ressie Hibbard Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harold and Bobby Smith; sisters, Callie Smith, Betty Smith and Mary Etta Smith; grandchildren, Paiten and Briel Cox; and great-nephews, Little Troy McClendon and Tyler Morgan Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Lana “Marie” Smith; four sons: Tommy, Timmy and Elizie Smith and Trenton Harrell; daughter, Teresa Hensley; stepsons: Wesley Garland, Garfield Cox, Gerald Kidd and Brandon Cox; six grandchildren: Alicia and Erica Hensley, Austin Kidd, Garfield T.J. Cox, Becky Lunsford and Cheyenne Cox; brothers: Lonnie, Joe, Randy and Jim Smith; sisters: Judy Smith, Linda Middleton, Bonnie Dozier and Ada Ann Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends, all who mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with the Rev. Claude Medlin officiating. Burial will be in the Brafford Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.
