Gilbert Gray

CORBIN — Gilbert (JR) Gray, of Tackett Creek Road, Williamsburg, departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the Oaktree Hospital in Corbin. He was 73 years, 2 months, and 9 days of age. He was born on April 23, 1940, in Knox County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Gray Sr. and Ann Rose Hembree; his stepfather, Lonzo Hembree; a son, Gregory Vogel; a daughter, Pamela Lowe and two sisters, Nora Gibson and Marie Clouse.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Gray, of Williamsburg; three daughters, Tamara Moses (Doyle), Tawyna  Gray and Shanda Gray, all of Williamsburg; one son,, Gilbert Marksberry, of Kenton County; nine  grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Hembree, of Williamsburg; five sisters, Linda Maynes, Helen Hamilton, Evaline Stevenson and Barbara Warren, all of Barbourville, and Sue Bolin, of Cincinnati, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and a host of many other family and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m.  Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Carpenter and the Rev. Billy Woodward officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Moses Addition of Pleasant View Cemetery.
