Herman Dobbs Jr.

CORBIN — Mr. Herman “Lee” Dobbs Jr., age 40, of London, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013, in Manchester, from injuries sustained in an accident.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Emilee Dobbs; his parents, Herman Dobbs and Patsy Light Dobbs; three children, Jordan, Hayden and Walker Dobbs; one sister, Lori Crawford and husband Donald; one brother, Chad Dobbs; special aunt, Sherri Blakely; uncle, Dale Light and wife Kelly; mother-in-law, Candace Hutton and husband Kenneth; three sisters-in-law, Sarah Flanagan and husband Jonathan; Amanda Milhorn and husband Bo, and Hannah Gilliam; four brothers-in-law, Andrew Gilliam and wife Julie, Matthew, Joshua and Isaac Gilliam.  He also leaves behind special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reeves and Lona Mae Dobbs; grandmother, Cora Godsey; and three uncles, Tommy Dobbs, Junior Godsey and Charlie “Eddie” Godsey.  

He was a flight paramedic with the Air Evac Lifeteam 109 in Manchester, and a paramedic with the Clay County and Knox County EMS. He was previously employed with Air Methods KY, Laurel County EMS, Saint Joseph London, Mount Carmel Fire Department, Sullivan County EMS, Church Hill EMS, Hawkins County EMS, Greene County EMS and Hawkins County Sheriff’s Department, all in Tennessee. He also enjoyed horseback riding, camping and farming with special friends and family.  

Funeral services for Herman “Lee” Dobbs Jr. will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Hawk Creek Church in London.  

The family of Herman “Lee” Dobbs Jr. will receive friends from 3-9 p.m., also at Hawk Creek Church. An additional visitation will be held at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville, Tenn. on Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 5-8 p.m.

Additional funeral servicea will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. also at Christian-Sells Funeral Home (1520 E Main St, Rogersville, TN 37857).  Burial will follow at Church Hill Memorial Gardens in Church Hill, Tenn.  

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that friends, family and community members make donations to the Walker-Dobbs Children’s Fund (First National Bank and Trust – 202 S. Main St. London, KY 40741).
