Amy Camille Hampton Canady, age 39, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Baptist Health Corbin.
She was born in Corbin and graduated from Corbin High School in 1992. She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she received her master’s degree and Rank One Certification. She was employed by Knox County Schools as a special education teacher at Lynn Camp High School, and was the former director for the Miss Cumberland Falls Pageant.
Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clifford and Marie Jones; paternal grandparents, Reed and Ruby Hampton, and by a cousin Troy Hampton.
She is survived by her daughter, Tory Camille Canady; parents, Ted and Margie Jones Hampton; husband, Eric Canady; stepson, Travis Canady; stepdaughter, Noah Canady; aunts and uncles, Christine Fricke; Wayne and Shirley Jones; Elbert and Nancy Hampton; Allen and Louella Hampton; John Rex and Karen Hampton; and by a host of family and friends who will all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with the Rev. Paula Farmer, the Rev. Chad Fugitt, and the Rev. Ron Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Lay Cemetery in Artemus. Pallbearers will be Steve Hampton, Greg Blish, Bill Ed Hampton, William Stewart, Scotty Merida, Courtney Jones, Billy Gabbard, Todd Brock, Trae Pennington, Dr. Keith Clifton and John Yeager.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin.
