Lena Evans

CORBIN — Lena Gail Evans, 70, of Pathfork, passed from this life Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at her home with her family by her side. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was a friend to all. She was born Nov. 12, 1940, at Black Star and was a member of the Black Star Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Bessie Sexton; and one brother, Orville (Butch) Sexton.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Thomas K. Evans; three children, Thomas (Charla) Evans Jr., of Pathfork; Debbie (Roger) Anderson, of Harlan; and Tim (Pheby) Evans, of Baxter; grandchildren, Ashley (Shaun) Turner, Thomas (Kayla) Evans, Charles Thomas Evans, Ryan Evans, Steven (Tara) Lewis, Ginger (Kevin) Farley, Jeff (Heather) Anderson, Timothy Evans, Brandon (Brandi) Evans, Dustin Evans, Dylan Brewer and Madison Brewer; great-grandchildren, Leann Evans, Chase, Cody and Cameron Turner, Olivia and Mason Lewis, Audrey and Autumn Lewis, Kameron Evans and Ashton Evans; a sister, Rosie Sexton, of Pathfork; and a brother, Roy Sexton, of London.

Gail is also survived by an “Angel on Earth,” Lynn Hobbs; as well as a host of special nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation for Gail will be after 5 p.m. Sunday at the Black Star Pentecostal Church.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church.

Following the services, she will be laid to rest at Alva Memorial Gardens at Black Star.
