Ernest L. Carlson, 83, passed away Thursday April 5, 2013, at Baptist Health Corbin in Corbin. He was born March 5, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Ernest R. Carlson and the late Borghild L. Johanssen Carlson. He was a member of Bethesda Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Carlson, of Williamsburg, three daughters, Carla Johnson of Williamsburg, Elana Holloway of Sevierville, Tenn., Gail Collette, of Williamsburg, four sons, Bob Carlson of Gray, Larry Carlson, Middleburg, Fla., Ernie Carlson, of Huntsville, Ala., Carl Carlson, of Lexington, 26 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, one sister, Ida Blair of Troy, N.Y., and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Walden officiating. A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Cumberland Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at the funeral home chapel.
