Ernie Gillis Jr.


Ernie Ray Gillis Jr., of Williamsburg, departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in Richmond. He was born on April 2, 1990, in Lakeland, Fla.

He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy, a graduate of Corbin High School, and a student at Eastern Kentucky University.

He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Emma Sue Akins Gillis and Joan Langford; and an uncle, Clayton Bustard.

He was the beloved son and brother of Ernie Ray Gillis Sr. and Diedre Gillis, of Williamsburg, and Samantha Jo Gillis, of Corbin; grandparents, Roy Gillis Sr. of Springboro, Ohio, and F.W. Bustard III, of Lakeland, Fla.; numerous aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the memorial service hour on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m.  Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cole Caven officiating.
