Mr. Franklin D. Tolliver, age 79, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.
Frank entered into this life on Jan. 6, 1934 in Harlan, the son of Elbert and Peggy Tolliver, both of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Partin and they shared 60 wonderful years together. Frank bravely served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, rising to the rank of A/1C and earning the National Defense Service Medal, Occupation Medal (Germany) and the Good Conduct Medal. He retired as an insurance adjustor from State Farm Insurance and was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, fishing and gardening.
Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Evelyn Tolliver, of Corbin; four children: Debbie Hobbs (DeWayne), of Lexington, Cindy Ellison (Carl), of Corbin, Dale Tolliver (Carol), of Nicholasville, and Suzy Ellison (John), of Spencer, W.Va.; eight grandchildren: Ashlee Allen, Steven (Tracy), Sarah and Kevin Tolliver, Jeremy and Luke Hobbs, Samantha and John Greg Ellison; one great-grandchild: Jace Hackney; and several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and dear friends, especially Homer and Delvie Hensley.
Funeral services for Mr. Frank Tolliver will be conducted on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Jervis and Bro. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Interment will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens with Military Honors being conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 158, Keavy.
Friends may call on Friday, April 12, 2013 from noon until 2 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home.
