Joe White

CORBIN —

Joe Lonnie White, 85, of Warren, Mich., New Port Richey, Fla., and formerly of Williamsburg, son of the late W.N. and Mary Hatmaker White, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, in Warren, Mich.   

Joe was a faithful member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Clinton Township, Mich., and Elfers Baptist Church in Elfers Fla. Joe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Bowlin White, a sister, Ruby White, two brothers, Jerome White and Edward White, three sisters, Sara Richardson, Rachel Liford and Margaret Ellison, one brother, Grant White.

He is survived by one son, Daniel Lee (Shirley)  White of Roseville, Mich., and one brother, Loy Holbert White, of Williamsburg, one brother-in-law, Norman Helton, of Williamsburg, six sisters-in-law, Mildred LaDouceur, Margaret Bowlin and Velma Bowlin all of Williamsburg, Mary Carolyn Bowlin of Corbin, Lana Adams Bell, of Somerset, Lillian Stinchcomb, of Louisville,  several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives  and friends to mourn  his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 6, 2013, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel in Williamsburg with Bro. Joe Burnett and Bro. Vernon Jones officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in the Tuggle Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the DAV post 158 of Keavy.  

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
