Mrs. Jean Gibbs, of Jacksboro, Tenn., and formerly of Williamsburg, departed this life on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at the Lafollette Health and Rehab Center in Lafollette, Tenn. She was 80 years, 3 months, and 2 days of age. She was born on Oct. 30, 1932, in Pruden, Tenn., to the late Brownlow Osborne and Hattie Partin Osborne. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Gibbs; a daughter, Darlene Partin; and three sisters, Henrietta Hughes, Phoebe Burkholder and Della Sharpe.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen Scott (Danny), of Pioneer, Tenn.; one son, Doug Gibbs, of Jacksboro, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Kenneth “Doodle” Partin (Buffy), of Frakes, Tonya Wilson (William), of Williamsburg, Brandon Knuckles (Jessica), of Corbin, Nathan Hamblin (Valerie), of Jellico, Tenn., Morgan Netzela (Nicole), of Pioneer, Tenn., and Alex Scott, of Pioneer, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Heather Wilson, Brandie Wilson, Amanda Partin, Jayden Partin, Jaycee Knuckles, Jayce Hamblin, Joey Creekmore, William Hamblin, Cayden Netzela and Riley Creekmore; two sisters, Vaude Lawson, of Sidney, Ohio, and Roxie Marlowe, of Clearfield, Tenn.; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the funeral hour on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Mullins officiating. Internment will be private.
