Charles “Pat” Marvel, age 64, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Kansas City, Mo., he was the son of the late Charles Marvel and Valeria Marvel. He had worked as a quality control inspector in the garment industry and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Marvel; brother, Bill Marvel and wife Marti, of Grand Junction, Colo.; two daughters, Elizabeth Marvel, of Kansas City, and Rachel Marvel, of Memphis; two stepchildren, Scott Long, of Durham, N.C., and Michelle Gilbert, of Greensboro, N.C.; and two grandsons, Seth and Blake Gilbert.
Friends may gather at the American Legion in Corbin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, before going to the Martin-Hendrickson Cemetery for a graveside service at 2 p.m. A life appreciation gathering will be held at the Legion following the graveside service.
The Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home has assisted the family.
