Patsy Terrell

CORBIN — Patsy J. (McPherson) Terrell, age 79, entered into rest on Aug. 7, 2013, in Manteca, Calif. She was born on Nov. 9, 1933, in Corbin, to the late Eva Mae (Roark) McPherson and Carroll Egbert McPherson.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Benny O. Terrell Sr., her daughter, Shelly Jo (Terrell) Walden, and her brother, Herschel Lee McPherson.

Pat is survived by her children, Benny O. Terrell Jr. (Marla), of Lathrop, Sherry J. Smith (Brian), of Oregon, and Stephanie J. Terrell, of Manteca. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Kimberlee Anne Smith, Benny O. Terrell III (Seeda), Courtney Lynne Terrell Anderson (Justin), and Christine Marie Smith; two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Halo Terrell and Cameron Mitchell Anderson. Pat also leaves behind her siblings, Martha Ellen Campbell, Paul McPherson, David McPherson, Judd McPherson and Sheila Brooks, all of Kentucky.

Pat taught at Neil Hafley Elementary School in Manteca for 15 years before she retired. She strongly supported her late husband, Pastor Ben O. Terrell Sr. in his ministry. Pat received her bachelor’s degree in education from University of the Pacific at the age of 50. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, reading, NASCAR, and especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Pat was a charter season ticket holder for the Stockton Thunder Hockey.

Services for Pat have been entrusted to P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, CA. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at Manteca Presbyterian Church, 275 N. Main Street, Manteca, CA. Final resting place will be East Union Cemetery, Manteca, Calif. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The American Heart Association or The American Diabetes Association.
