Myrtle O’Brien

CORBIN — Myrtle Sizemore Smith O’Brien went home to be with Jesus on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013. She was surrounded by family. She was a long member of Spivey Baptist Church in Clay County.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hardin Smith, and daughter, Eulene Smith; and second husband, Charles O’Brien; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven brothers: Howell Sizemore, Roy Sizemore, Troy Sizemore, Verlon Sizemore, Verdin Sizemore, Lawrence Sizemore and Lee Sizemore; and one sister: Alpha O’Brien.

She is survived by her children, Eugene Smith and wife Mary Ruth, of West Harrison, Ind., Earl Smith and wife Debbie, of Manchester, Alfred Smith and wife Judy, of Gray, Leonard Smith and wife Rita, of West Harrison Ind., Ray Smith and wife Marlene, of Liberty, Ind., Vada Smith Engle Norman, of Corbin, Christine Lockhart and husband Leland, of Corbin, Ernest Smith, of Woodbine, Hayden Smith, of Hamilton, Ohio, and Mary Gladys Park, of Corbin; one brother: Lyndon Sizemore and wife Ruth, of Metamora, Ind.; one sister: Betty Hillhourse and husband Clint, of Osgood, Ind.; 34 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the O’Neil-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Broughton Officiating with Burial to follow in the Candle Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the O’Neil-Lawson Funeral Home.
