Laurel County man doesn’t let cancer stop him from obtaining teaching degree

Sparkman works with his 7th grade students, Aaron McCowan and Christopher Chastain. The school administration allows him to wear a toboggan to school every day to cover his hair loss due to the chemotherapy treatments. Other than the occasional light-hearted joke from his younger students, Sparkman said his students are considerate and respect their teacher for what he has gone through.
