2008 May Day Festival

The 65th annual May Day Festival and Pageant was held Friday at Corbin High School, where Mayor Willard McBurney crowned Sritha Reddy the 2008 May Queen. Katty Ann Taylor was crowned Tiny Queen. Although a bat caused a brief delay when it flew onto the gym floor — scaring the girls who were set to perform — students of Gail Frederick School of Dance opened the musical acts with the traditional dance of the May Pole. Area children also performed song and dance routines for the audience.

Students performed in dance routines during the May Day Festival, including singing as Alvin and the Chipmunks and dancing to the song “Good Ship Lollypop.”
