Barbourville Police recover body of local missing man

CORBIN — Times-Tribune Staff Report

According to a Barbourville Police Department press release, late Sunday night, Nov. 11,2012, the body of Jonathan Foley, reported missing on Nov. 7, was recovered by officers from the Barbourville Police Department, Knox County Sheriff Department, Kentucky State Police and Knox County SORT Team.

Arrested and charged with murder were John Chris Mills, 42, of Bimble, George Marcum, 52, of Trosper, and James Wyatt 33, of Bimble. All three were lodged in the Knox County Jail.

Based upon the missing persons investigation launched Wednesday afternoon, officers learned Foley had been killed on the day he went missing. Through a joint agency investigation, three men were identified as being involved in the murder and arrested Sunday. Following the arrests, officers learned the location of Foley's body and were able to recover Foley so that he could be returned to his family. Joint efforts by several agencies were crucial to arrests being made and information gathered.

The investigation is ongoing and more charged are expected.
