CORBIN — Times-Tribune Staff Report

The second golden alert in two days was cancelled late Thursday, which had been issued on a Laurel County man who was missing, according to Sheriff John Root.

Billy Pennington, 25, was reported missing by his father and was last seen around 5:30 p.m. Thursday walking on Bible Road toward Fariston, about four miles south of London.

Root said he was found about 7:30 p.m. in Levi Jackson State Park.

Pennington was reported missing Wednesday, and was found by the London-Laurel County Rescue Squad at London’s Walmart, and returned to his father.

Pennington was last seen wearing a gray shirt, and camouflage pants. He is approximately 6 foot tall and weighs about 170 pounds.

He is impaired with a medical condition.

On previous occasions he has been found at South Laurel High School, Levi Jackson Park, Krystal’s restaurant, and Walmart. Deputy Robbie Grimes led the investigation and was assisted by Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter. Coordinating the ground search was Laurel County Emergency Management Director Abbey Hale, along with London-Laurel County Rescue Squad.
