CORBIN — By Jeff Noble / staff writer

An autopsy will be conducted in Frankfort today (Wednesday), to determine the cause of death of a North Corbin woman who was found outside her home Tuesday.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday night the woman was identified as Mary Daniels, 69, of American Greeting Card Road in Corbin.

Deputies were alerted to the incident around 3:17 p.m. When they arrived, they found Daniels in the yard next to her mobile home. The deputies learned that she had been found by her son, who then called authorities.

Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter, and Deputies Larry Parrott and Robbie Grimes with the Laurel Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene, along with the Laurel County Coroner’s Office and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, EMS.

Sheriff’s Detective Billy Madden is continuing the investigation.
