A Corbin man was arrested Thursday on two charges after a domestic violence situation in the Gordon Hill neighborhood.
Ronald Arnold, 48, of Corbin, was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and alcohol intoxication.
He’s jailed in the Whitley County Detention Center in Williamsburg.
The incident happened Thursday morning. According to Maj. Rob Jones of the Corbin Police Department, officers responded to a domestic violence call at the Higgins Street Apartments.
Police reported Ronald Arnold had placed a 30-30 rifle to the neck of his brother-in-law, Anthony Cobb, asking Cobb if he was trying to cause problems for Arnold. Cobb turned to his sister, Melissa Arnold, who is also Ronald Arnold’s estranged wife, and told her to call police. At that time, Arnold turned the gun on his wife and said, “I’ll kill you too.”
Once police were contacted, Ronald Arnold left the apartment.
When Patrolman Kyle Trosper arrived on the scene, he found Arnold in another apartment along with the 30-30 rifle.
Police said Ronald Arnold showed a presence of alcohol on himself at the time of his arrest. He was arrested without incident.
Ptl. Trosper, along with Ptl. Jeff Hill and Lieutenant Jason Moore assisted at the scene.
Colonel David Maiden of Corbin Police is continuing the investigation.
