What started as a stop by Corbin police for reckless driving Sunday ended up with the driver being arrested on three counts, including trafficking in methamphetamine.
Bryan K. Brewer, 23, of Corbin was charged with reckless driving; first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense; and having no insurance (non-owner).
Brewer was arrested without incident and was jailed at the Knox County Detention Center in Barbourville.
According to Maj. Rob Jones of the Corbin Police Department, Brewer was stopped for reckless driving around the intersection of U.S. 25E (the Cumberland Gap Parkway and the Corbin Bypass (KY 3041). K-9 Officer Steve Meadors then conducted a search of the vehicle Brewer was driving, when he found a baggie containing a white powdery substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
The meth and an undetermined amount of cash were seized by Meadors and Sgt. Glenn Taylor, who assisted in the case.
Officer Meadors is continuing he investigation.
