CORBIN — KBE upholds commissioner’s decision

The Kentucky Board of Education has agreed to uphold Commissioner of Education Terry Holliday’s decision in July on the non-resident student agreement between the Corbin Independent Schools and the Knox County Public Schools for the 2012-2013 school year.

Ground broken for new fire station

Ground was broken over the weekend for a new fire station in Canadatown, according to Woodbine Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief Rick Fore.

Barbourville to fill tourism director’s job

Barbourville will soon have a new director of tourism, the result of an agreement approved Tuesday morning in a special meeting of the Barbourville Tourism Commission.
