POLICE ROUNDUP: Man arrested for DUI on tractor

TRI-COUNTY — An East Bernstadt man was jailed Wednesday after he was found to be driving a tractor while under the influence.

Kyle M. Robinson, 27, now faces charges of his first offense of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence, his second offense of having prescription controlled substance not in their original container and tampering with evidence.

According to Laurel County Sheriff John Root, Deputy Robbie Grimes and Constable Tim May were dispatched to investigate a complaint of a man driving a tractor with a bush hog while under the influence.

When they arrived on Campground School Road south of London, they found the suspect on the tractor and bush hog.

Root said they arrested the suspect, Robinson, after conducting a traffic stop and determining he was driving under the influence.

Root said after Robinson was arrested, law enforcement found a metal container with several suspected Adipex pills.

Adipex is an appetite suppressant.

While taking the suspect to the Laurel County Correctional Center in London, Root said Grimes observed the subject throw a pill bottle out the window of the cruiser.

Grimes stopped, according to Root, and retrieved the pill bottle, which contained a large amount of suspected generic Xanax.

Robinson allegedly told Grimes the pills were his.

Two persons arrested with stolen property

Laurel County Sheriff John Root said Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter investigated a complaint that a person was having their driveway sealed by two male subjects.

Root said the complainant allegedly noticed there was a weed trimmer and a leaf blower in the back of their truck, which reportedly had been stolen from his residence several days earlier.

When Poynter arrived Wednesday afternoon on West Laurel Road, he conducted an investigation.

Root said after the property owner positively identified the items as stolen, two men were arrested.

Dustin J, Bewley and Michael Tkachik, both 19 and from London, both face charges of receiving stolen property under $500.  Root said Tkachik also had an outstanding bench warrant from Laurel District Court for failure to appear.

Both suspects were jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
