CORBIN — By John Ross / Staff Writer

Cold, damp winter weather can make joints swell and ache.

Sometimes it can lead to pain.

Do you have unexplained pain in your wrists? Your feet and hands?

Even your knees or elbows?

Could it be arthritis?

For answers to these questions, the Laurel County Public Library invites the public to attend an informational program on arthritis 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17.

Dr. Amjab Ali will lead first part the two-part program. Ali will address types of arthritis, symptoms, when to seek treatment and problem management.

Ali is the director of the Hospitalist Program at St. Joseph Hospital-London, a rheumatology specialist, and founder of an arthritis clinic in London.

The second part of the program will feature Ruth Ellen, a certified instructor with the Arthritis Foundation’s Exercise Program for Better Living. Ellen will present an informational session describing the benefits of this exercise program, how to get started with it and what it includes.

Registration for the event is appreciated, and it may be done on-line at or call (606) 864-5759.
