Corbin woman jailed for disorderly conduct, intoxication

A call to deputies about people fighting in a parking lot ended in the arrest of a Corbin woman Friday night, for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Sissy Elliott, 31, of Robert E. Cox Road Apartments, Corbin, was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, and public intoxication of controlled substances.

She’s jailed in the Laurel County Detention Facility in London.

The arrest came Friday around 8:59 p.m., on Pine Grove Road, seven miles of London, after Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies Larry Parrott and Andrew Lawson, along with Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter, responded to a complaint that people were fighting in the parking lot of Emma Estates.

According to the Sheriff’s Department’s report, when deputies arrived and conducted an investigation resolving the situation, they were confronted by a woman outside her apartment that created a disturbance and that also appeared to be under the influence.

Elliott advised deputies that they were not doing their job correctly. The deputies asked her three times to return to her apartment, but she would not do so.

Deputies asked a final time for Elliott to return to her apartment, but she refused and was arrested.

Campground Court dispute leads to two arrests

After being dispatched to an apartment in southern Laurel County Friday night, deputies arrested a man and woman on separate charges.

David Gray, 58, of Campground Road Apartments, London, was charged with fourth-degree assault - domestic violence.

Jamie Harris, 36, of Combs Avenue, Corbin, was charged with public intoxication - controlled substances.

Both were jailed in the Laurel County Detention Facility.

The arrests came Friday around 8:50 p.m. on Campground Court, eight miles south of London.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root reports Deputy Larry Parrott and Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter were dispatched to a complaint of an intoxicated woman in a person’s apartment who would not leave. When they arrived at the scene, deputies determined that Gray had allegedly grabbed his girlfriend by the arms, leaving red marks on her arms.

In addition, Harris was arrested there when she attempted to flee from deputies. They determined that she was under the influence. Harris advised deputies she had been taking prescription medication that was not prescribed to her.
