FBI looking for wig-wearing bank robber

CORBIN — KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The FBI is offering an unspecified reward for information leading to the arrest of a man suspected in at least six bank robberies in Kentucky and Tennessee while wearing a woman’s wig.

The agency said in a news release that the robber has been nicknamed the “Bad Hair Bandit” because he disguises himself with women’s wigs of varying colors, lengths and styles during the robberies. He also has been known to wear sunglasses, bands, bracelets and gloves.

He is suspected in robberies this year in Kentucky in Barbourville, Pine Knot and Corbin and in Tennessee in Jellico and Jacksboro. The last robbery he is suspected in was last Friday in Jacksboro.

In some of the robberies he has brandished a gun. The FBI says he is a white male, mid-20s and weighing approximately 180 to 210 pounds.
