London man arrested for shoplifting
A London man was arrested Wednesday for shoplifting at a Walmart in southern Laurel County, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
Larry Helton, 35, was detained by Walmart’s loss prevention team. When Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter arrived, he found that Helton had in his possession a prescription bottle containing three types of prescription medication. None were the medication listed on the bottle.
Helton was arrested and charged with shoplifting and prescription controlled substances not in proper container–first offense. He was jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
A London woman was arrested Wednesday while deputies were conducting an investigation, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
A check of April Sanderson, 28, revealed she had outstanding warrants, and was charged with Knox County bench warrants for flagrant non-support and for failure to appear in court for traffic violations.
Sanderson was arrested by Deputy Josh Scott and Detective Charlie Loomis and jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
According to Root, Sanderson will likely face additional charges.
