A man found guilty of starting an April police chase with Knox County deputies has now been sentenced.

Goble T. Brown, 20, of Scalf, appeared with his attorney, Jennifer Milligan, in Knox County Circuit Court Friday.

According to the circuit clerk’s office, Brown was sentenced to two and a half years in jail for first-degree fleeing and evading a deputy and first-degree wanton endangerment of the deputy.

Brown was arraigned in April on a two-count indictment. The first count indicted him for the chase after Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Hensley tried to get him to stop his vehicle.

The second count indicted him for endangering the life of Hensley during the chase.

He was jailed in the Knox County Detention Center.
