A man wearing blue jeans, a grey hooded jacket covered by a green shirt in tan boots and a baseball cap that robbed the Shell gas station on KY 192 was indicted Friday.

Terrence Long, 31, of London’s John Parker Road, was indicted on charges of first-degree robbery, being a convicted felon carrying a handgun and unlawful taking of less than $500.

On Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, just before noon, police said Long entered the Shell Gas Mart the second time of the day. He told the clerk and her husband, “I’m back,” and discussed prices of cigarettes and asked for a pack of Marlboro.

As he offered the clerk money to pay for the cigarettes and she opened the cash drawer, Long reached across the counter and took about $175.

The clerk’s husband chased him out of the store to a white Chevrolet S-10 Blazer.

London City Police reported when Long reached the vehicle he pulled a small black handgun.

Long fled east on KY 192, turned left on KY 363 and collided with another vehicle at its intersection with Myers-Baker Road atop what is called Town Hill.

He continued to its intersection with West Dixie Street where Long turned right and abandoned his vehicle at Dixie Street’s intersection with Fire-Rescue Drive near the London firehouse and fled on foot through the area near Carnaby Square leaving a trail of clothing.

He was arrested Monday by London police officers at his home on KY 1223.
