Man arrested for public intoxication
An East Bernstadt man was arrested Sunday following a complaint he was intoxicated at Moberly’s Country Market, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
Branden Collier, 27, walked across the street to a vacant business lot when he saw Deputy Larry Parrott’s patrol car approaching. Parrott conducted a roadside investigation and determined Collier to be under the influence.
Collier was charged with public intoxication-controlled substances and third-degree criminal trespassing. He was jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Man arrested for assault
A London man was arrested for assault after an altercation with his girlfriend, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
Dustin Bewley, 20, reportedly hit his girlfriend with a broom handle, which resulted in a cut on her right hand.
Bewley was arrested by deputies Tyler Morris, Mikey Ashurst and Daniel Grigsby as well as Sgt. Brett Reeves and charged with fourth-degree assault. He was jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Two arrested at Dollar General
A Corbin man and woman were arrested at a Dollar General on KY 490, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
Tammy Jones, 32, appeared to be intoxicated, and was arrested after an investigation by deputies showed her to be under the influence. Deputies learned a second person, Lonnie Reed, 44, allegedly left the scene on foot before deputies arrived, and she was located walking along KY 490 near KY 1376. Reed was found to have several outstanding bench warrants.
Jones was arrested by deputies Robbie Grimes, Larry Parrott and Daniel Grigsby. Kentucky State Police also responded to the scene.
Jones was charged with public intoxication-controlled substances, and third-degree criminal trespass.
Reed was charged on three Laurel County bench warrants for failure to appear in court and three Knox County bench warrants for failure to appear in court. Jones and Reed were jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
