February’s almost gone, and during this month the Corbin Public Library hosted several events and sessions to salute February as “Love My Library” month.
One was “Prepare to Care,” a workshop where adults got help setting up a caregiving plan for their families and help them find resources before a caregiving crisis occurs. Library officials said the workshop was beneficial for those already caring for loved ones.
Another was a session involving the Affordable Care Act, in which people
who had questions about the healthcare act, or needed help signing up, could get the information and assistance they needed from KYNECT.
Both events were held Feb. 3.
For the children, there were Valentine’s Day programs during their “Toddler Time” on Tuesdays and “Family Storytime” on Saturdays.
And as in years past, Saturday, Feb. 15 saw a large crowd fill the room during the library’s “Fancy Nancy Tea Party,” where children came dressed in fancy or handsome attire.
There’s still a week left, though, to take in some programs the library offers this month.
* For adults, “Sit & Stitch” is offered Monday, Feb. 24 from 5-7 p.m.
Bring your current project and join the others. They’ll be meeting at You and Me, Coffee and Tea, on Main Street.
* For children, “Toddler Time” is offered Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 11:15 a.m.
This Tuesday’s Toddler Time is “Art Day” and will be at the library.
* For adults, “Friends Meeting” is offered Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.
Friends of the Library meets monthly to discuss ways to help promote and support the library.
The Corbin Public Library is located at 215 Roy Kidd Avenue.
They’re open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Wednesday and Saturday from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
The library is closed Sunday.
