3 burglaries under investigation

Two businesses, one home on Master Street hit earlier this month

CORBIN —

By Jeff Noble / Staff Writer

Firearms were taken at three Master Street locations during the overnight hours of Saturday, July 6, and Corbin Police are asking for the public’s help in the case.

Lt. Bill Rose of the Corbin Police Department said the burglaries involved one residence and two businesses — the Saunders Law Office and Bankruptcy Express.

He added pistols were taken at all three locations, with jewelry, antique pocket knives and pocket watches also stolen from the residence. Both the Saunders Law Office and Bankruptcy Express, which Rose said was operated by attorney James Tomaw, were ransacked by the burglars.

At this time, police don’t know if the burglaries of Bankruptcy Express or the law office are related, but evidence was collected at one of those two locations. It was noted the evidence found could possibly be linked to the break-ins of the two businesses.

Rose continues to investigate. He asks anyone who has any information on the burglaries to call Corbin Police at 528-1122.
