Woman sent to hospital after one-vehicle crash

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN — Conditions were rainy and wet Monday morning in Corbin when a one-vehicle accident on 5th Street Road (KY 727) near Alsip Trail sent this 2002 Ford Explorer into a fence and a young woman to the hospital for observation.

According to Corbin Police Sgt. James Miller, the accident happened around 9:25 a.m. Sarah Crawford, 22, of Corbin, was driving on 5th Street Road headed towards town when she lost control of her Explorer, hit a fence and flipped on its side. Crawford was taken by ambulance to Baptist Regional Medical Center for what Miller called “to get checked out, after being bruised and shaken.”

The wet road, and driving a little fast, were cited by police as the cause of the accident. Miller investigated the accident for Corbin Police and was assisted by Whitley EMS and the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
