$1,000 reward offered for robbery info

A $1,000 reward is now being offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for a rash of armed robberies in southern Laurel County, according to Sheriff John Root.

Two of the robberies happened at the BP/Krystal and another happened Sunday at Lakeside Shell. Both of those businesses are located along Hwy. 770 near the Interstate 75 Exit 29. A fourth robbery happened at Unique Tanning and Gifts, located along U.S. 25W near U.S. 25E. All of the robberies have occurred within the past two weeks.

In each robbery, a lone gunman approached attendants, brandished a semi-automatic weapon and demanded cash before fleeing on foot.

Cumberland Valley Crime Stoppers is offering the reward.

London woman injured in crash

A woman suffered head and arm injuries after she flipped a motorcycle she was driving, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.

The crash happened about 6:30 p.m. Sunday as Donna Eby, 53, of London, drove a Harley-Davidson Trike Conversion just off Hwy. 1006. Root said Donna Eby was practicing her driving skills when she lost control, slid sideways, struck a curb and flipped the motorcycle.

Donna Eby was taken by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph London hospital. A passenger, Randy Eby, 48, of London, wasn’t injured.

The motorcycle was heavily damaged.
