Laurel County is among 45 counties in the state to have a contract awarded to improve a road, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
A section of Moren Road (Hwy. 1769) has been targeted for asphalt rehabilitation. The work will be completed between U.S. 25 and HR 9006.
Elmo Greer & Sons was awarded the contract for $73,691. Work is expected to be completed by Nov. 15.
The Laurel County project was among more than $64 million in projects awarded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The latest project approvals involving 66 contracts is the second round of asphalt projects awarded this spring. The cabinet awarded more than $27 million in contracts in April.
