Tidal Wave Road man arrested for stabbing

Victim continues to recuperate at home

By John L. Ross, Staff Writer

One man remains jailed and another continues to recuperate at home after a stabbing attack on Saturday.

According to Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell, deputies were called out to a residence on Hightop Road west of Corbin just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.

There they found the victim, 24-year-old Adam Hart, of Woodbine, bleeding from four stab wounds.

Harrell said Hart was transported by Air Evac to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, but is “now at home, doing fine.”

Deputy Shawn Jackson, with assistance from officers with the Corbin Police Department, arrested Jerry Lee Lawson, 44, of Tidal Wave Road near Rockholds.

“We got up with Lawson Sunday morning,” Harrell said, adding he was located “at a friend’s house” in Stoney Fork.

Lawson remains jailed at the Whitley County Detention Center under a $100,000 cash bond. He faces charges of second-degree assault.
