Times-Tribune Staff Report
A London man died and a Corbin man was critically injured in a two-car crash Tuesday morning in Laurel County, according to Sheriff John Root.
The crash happened about 9 a.m. as a 2005 Jeep Liberty driven by Albert Stillings, 74, drove west on KY 192. Stillings lost control of the vehicle on a curve and it crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound 2002 Chrysler 300 Limited driven by Bobby Evans, 49. The two vehicles came to rest on the road, partially blocking it.
Stillings was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington where he died at 2:27 p.m.
Evans also suffered critical injuries and was also flown to Lexington.
Wet road conditions are believed to have contributed to the crash, which remains under investigation by Deputy William Bo Harris.
Assisting at the scene were Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore, Sgt. Josh Gaylor, the London-Laurel Rescue Squad, Laurel County Fire Department and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.
