Three people remain jailed in the Whitley County Detention Center after a burglary Friday night.

According to Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell, the victim, Brandon Gonzalez, came home approximately 7 p.m. Friday and found people in his home, who he ran off.

He then found several glass panels in his back door shattered.

Harrell also said Gonzalez discovered several items missing from the home.

“He knew one guy’s first name,” Harrell said. “And where he lived.”

Sgt. Ken Shepherd and Deputy Shawn Jackson responded to the burglary.

That night they arrested one suspect, 19-year-old Heather Maria Cox, of Williamsburg.

On Saturday, the other two suspects, George Albert Carter, 20, and Estel Dewayne Leach, 19, both of Williamsburg, were arrested by the Williamsburg Police Department.

The sheriff said all three suspects “were arrested without incident.”

Harrell said items stolen from the Gonzalez residence included several hand tools “including hammers and wrenches,” 68 DVDs, four Xbox games, a Sony DVD player, a set of Wahl hair clippers, a Swiss army knife, a spool of wire and an Xbox game station.

The game station was the only item not recovered, according to Harrell.

Cox and Leach remain jailed under $7,500 cash bonds each, and Carter is jailed under a $15,000 cash bond, as he also faces charges of failure to appear and non payment of fines.

The trio faces second-degree burglary charges in this case.
