Personal property tax rates set

The first reading of the ordinance setting the property tax rates for 2012 was approved at a special meeting of the Corbin City Commission Thursday morning at Corbin City Hall.

BBB warns residents of phone scam

Area residents are being cautioned about a telephone scam in which callers who sometimes claim to be from Microsoft try to gain access to personal computers.

Rand Paul’s speech at convention ‘phenomenal’

The national profile of Kentucky’s junior U.S. Senator, Rand Paul, continued to grow this week at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

A Manchester woman was arrested Wednesday after officers were told she was using fraudulent prescriptions, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.

A Gray man was arrested Wednesday after he beat a man so badly he requires surgery, according to Knox County Sheriff John Pickard.
