Knox County drug roundup arrests continue with two more suspects jailed

CORBIN — By John Ross / Staff Writer

Friday was a busy day for drug-busting in Knox County.

Sheriff John Pickard explained that after a drug roundup conducted during the morning hours, later that day, deputies were sent to serve a warrant.

The sheriff said those deputies went to a Bertha Hollow Road residence to serve that warrant on 22-year-old Joseph Burley Elliot.

Besides Elliot, Pickard said deputies found more.

Once Chief Deputy Derek Eubanks, Deputy Brian Hensley and Deputy Tommy Houston arrived at the residence, they allegedly saw Johnny Elliot, along with several others, weighing out marijuana and placing it into plastic baggies.

After deputies spoke with Johnny Elliot, they were permitted to search the residence.

Pickard said deputies found three plastic baggies containing marijuana, as well as digital scales, more plastic baggies, and a marijuana pipe. Johnny Elliot, of Gray, was arrested and faces charges of trafficking marijuana, less than 8 ounces, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnny Elliot was jailed in the Knox County Detention Center and released on an unknown bond.

Joseph Elliot remains jailed in the detention center under two separate cash bonds — one for $5,000 and the other for $393.
