A Williamsburg man has confessed that he was involved in seven armed bank robberies in Southeastern Kentucky and Tennessee, according to Williamsburg Police Chief Wayne Bird.
The man, Jason Fox, 30, and his wife, Tosha Fox, 27, also of Williamsburg, were arrested Friday by Bird. The arrests followed Thursday's robbery at the L&N Federal Credit Union located inside the Williamsburg Walmart.
Although Jason Fox confessed to being the "bad hair bandit" he did not implicate his wife in the robberies. Bird said her arrest came later Friday as his department continued its investigation.
The armed robberies were committed in Corbin, Barbourville, McCeary County, Jellico and Jacksboro, Tenn.
The couple has been charged only in connection with the Williamsburg robbery. Jason Fox is charged with first-degree robbery and Tosha Fox, is charged with complicity to first-degree robbery, and both are jailed in the Whitley County Detention Center without bond pending the filing of federal charges.
