CORBIN — 2nd reading of business license ordinance approved

The big breaks for business owners in the City of Corbin will begin in three weeks, after the Corbin City Commission approved the second reading Monday night of a revised ordinance which halves the costs of business licenses.

Two Corbin City Commissioners said their goodbyes Monday night during the session, the last one for 2012.

Police investigating burglaries

Police could be close to making arrests in connection with the Thursday burglaries of two restaurants, according to Corbin Police Detective Rusty Hedrick.

Homeland Security grant awarded

A Homeland Security grant totaling $37,000 was awarded to the London-Laurel County Rescue Squad recently.

Northbound U.S. 25E to be reduced to one lane

Northbound U.S. 25E will be reduced to one lane near the road’s intersection with American Greeting Card Road and North Cherry Avenue in Laurel County beginning at 8 a.m. today (Tuesday) until 6 p.m. on Thursday.
