SPORTS BREAKING NEWS - McDaniel gets Lady Redhounds’ job; Osborne steps down at North Laurel

By Chris Parsons / Staff Writer

One local high school athletics department named a new coach Thursday while another will soon be on the hunt for a replacement.

Jason McDaniel, a long-time assistant for the Corbin Redhounds’ basketball team, was tabbed to lead the Lady Redhounds during a press conference Thursday. McDaniel replaces former coach Jennifer Parsons and inherits a team that won the 13th region Championship last season.

Meanwhile, a few miles north of that press conference, North Laurel softball coach and former Miss Kentucky Softball, Becky (Abner) Osborne resigned from her position as head coach of the North Laurel Lady Jaguars’ softball team.

See Friday's edition of The Times-Tribune to learn the details of both of these developing stories.
