Emergency responders were called to the Knox County Annex building near Corbin late Monday after a bomb threat was called in to the Knox County EMS, which is housed there.
According to Knox County Chief Deputy Derek Eubanks, the bomb threat was received at 4:30 p.m. and the building was evacuated.
Firefighters from West Knox Fire Rescue were called to help block access to the building until it could be determined it was safe.
Police also blocked access to the building from U.S. 25E.
About 7 p.m., a bomb sniffing dog from Kentucky State Police Special Operations was used to search the building. No explosive device was found.
Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy Roy Gambrel is investigating the case.
