A woman jailed on second-degree assault charges in June 2012 has been returned to the Whitley County Detention Center.
Matoaka Kay Hensley, 47, formerly of Rockholds, was arrested by Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Harrell June 24, 2012 and released on August that year on a $75,000 surety bond.
However, she has yet to go to trial for these charges.
According to Sheriff Colan Harrell, the department was investigating a stabbing that occurred that day in June.
The sheriff alleged there was an argument between Hensley and an unidentified Rockholds resident — who was later treated at Baptist Health Corbin for knife wounds.
Hensley allegedly failed to appear for her court proceedings in this case — and was arrested Tuesday by the WCSD.
She remains jailed under a $100,000 cash bond with an ankle bracelet requirement, charged with failure to appear. She is slated to appear in court March 10.
