CORBIN — Times-Tribune Staff Report

The Barbourville Police Department is investigating a fire which happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Patrolling officers discovered a wood-floored trailer owned by the City of Barbourville and used to collect cardboard boxes for recycling.

That trailer was found burning behind Family Dollar in Union Plaza.

The flaming trailer was located a few feet from several gas lines, which could have ignited if not found in a timely manner.

The Barbourville Police Department requests assistance from anyone who may have knowledge of the fire and to report the information as soon as possible.

Information can be sent via Facebook, email or by calling 606-546-3441.
