W’burg man arrested in connection to copper theft, Corbin, KY

A Williamsburg man wanted in connection to several copper thefts that occurred over the weekend has been arrested, according to Williamsburg Police Chief Wayne Bird.

Rocky A. Hayes, 24, was arrested and booked into the Whitley County Detention Center Tuesday, according to Bird and jail records. He faces two charges of theft by unlawful taking.

As of late Monday, police were still seeking Hayes and asked for the public’s help.

The stolen copper was valued at several thousand dollars.
