Housing Authority of Corbin Director Dora Mobley said that for a family size of one, the annual income must be less than $22,020. For a family size of two, the annual income must be less than $25,140, while for a family size of three, the annual income must be less than $28,320. Finally, for a family size of four, the annual income must be less than $31,440.
Applications are being taken at the Housing Authority of Corbin office at 11336 Madison Street in Corbin, and applicants can call 528-5104 for more information.
Mobley added the anticipated opening of McBurney Manor Apartments is set for this September.

The old Corbin East School property has a new name. What had been known as Greater Corbin Housing Apartments is now McBurney Manor Apartments.
And with its completion coming in a few months, the building’s operator — the Housing Authority of Corbin — is now accepting applications for the first residents to move in.
The apartments are located at 529 Master Street, at the corner of Master and Hamlin Avenue in the Knox County side of Corbin.
In a news release Tuesday, the Housing Authority listed guidelines for potential renters of the new apartments. At McBurney Manor, all 32 affordable housing units have two bedrooms, one bath, and include a washer and dryer, along with water, sewer service and garbage service.
The rent is $475 a month, plus deposit, with all residents responsible for paying the electric bill. All those applying must meet income eligibility limits. For one person, the renter must have an annual income of $22,020, while a family size of two must have an annual income of $25,140. For a family of three, the annual income must be $28,320, while a family of four must have an annual income of $31,440.
The Housing Authority of Corbin noted that applications are now being taken at their office at 1336 Madison Street in Corbin, and that is an Equal Housing Opportunity. For more information you can call them at (606) 528-5104.
McBurney Manor Apartments is owned by Greater Corbin Housing, a non-profit organization formed in 2005 by the Housing Authority of Corbin.
In January of this year, Housing Authority director and Greater Corbin Housing secretary Dora Mobley said the physical work of remodeling and upgrading the former school began after last Thanksgiving. During that time, the site was given the temporary name Greater Corbin Housing Apartments.
Housing Partnership, Inc. of Louisville partnered with the housing authority on the construction and rehabilitation of the building, with a total of $4.5 million in private money funding the work.
