Barbourville Tourist Commission to repeat meeting in September

CORBIN — Times-Tribune Staff Report

A mixup at the Barbourville Tourist Commission regarding the number of members who may vote in matters happened at Monday’s meeting, Assistant Director Janet Jones reported Tuesday morning.

When four of seven members of the board were available the members agreed that four of seven could be a quorum.

Later in the day it was discovered that the minimum number of members to constitute a quorum is five.

So, Jones said the work done at the meeting would not be viable and would be considered at the next meeting at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10.
