Three sent to hospital following two-car crash in Corbin

CORBIN — Three people were taken to the hospital following a two-car crash in Corbin Wednesday, according to Corbin Police Public Affairs Officer Major Rob Jones.

The crash happened about about 10 a.m. at the intersection of Roy Kidd Avenue and North Main Street when Robert Hedrickson, 79, of Williamsburg, who was driving a 2002 Nissan Sentra on Roy Kidd Avenue, pulled into the path of a northbound Chevrolet pickup driven by Sarah Powers, 62, of Corbin.

Powers struck the Sentra, which was pushed into a curb and a light pole. The driver’s side door on the Sentra had to be removed by the Corbin Fire Department.

Both Hendrickson and a passenger, Imogene Hendrickson, 73, were injured, as was Powers. All three were taken to Baptist Health Corbin hospital. Traffic was diverted for nearly an hour while rescuers worked. No one was cited in the crash.
